Halloween 2010

We had a great Halloween in Maryland! We spent the night with my mom, brother, sister-in-law, niece and nephew and my sister-in-law's family trick or treating!  WP was a little hesitent at first, but by the end of the night he was running up the driveways just like the big kids.  DH and I really enjoyed watching WP warm up to the whole process.  CE stayed at the house with my mom because it was to chilly for her, but we did grab some family shots before heading out with WP!

God's Country

This past weekend, DH and I loaded up the kiddos and headed up the road to South Carolina.  We could not have asked for a more perfect fall weekend to spend in God's Country a/k/a Clemson!!  On Saturday afternoon we headed out to Clemson to watch DH's beloved Tigers play Georgia Tech.  WP and CE were perfect children.  This was WP's second game and he really started to get into the cheering and excitement.  He was a bit timid at the tailgate, but he definitely warmed up after a while - he even danced for a little bit!  CE slept through most of the trip but she definitely let us know when it was time to go!! I think our sweet kiddies are good luck charms for the Tigers as they gave GT a good old butt whoopin'!!  I don't have a lot of pictures and the two I do have aren't that great since they are off of my cell phone.

In other news, we had some fun adventures in the kitchen this week.  Now that it is finally starting to feel like fall (well at night anyway) I decided to make some fallish meals. Below are some pictures of our meals and DH's rating on a scale of 1-5.

Caramelized Apple Grilled Cheese Sandwiches

Made with Gala Apples and Smoked Guoda Cheese...YUMMY!!
(DH gave it 4 out of 5 stars)

Apple Potato Hash
(DH gave the Hash a 5 out of 5 stars...I originally made this as a side dish for pork chops on night and then served the leftovers with eggs over medium)

And two more pictures just for the fun of it:

Finally, happy birthday to the best big brother in the world!!! We love you!!

Pumpkin Patch 2010

Wow, two posts in the same week!!

Today, we took WP and CE to Uncle Shuck's Pumpkin Patch up in Dawsonville.  It was a nice 80 degrees here in GA - perfect pumpkin picking weather.  Will was a little overwhelmed by all of the people but he seemed to have a good time doing the kiddie corn maze with Daddy.  Enjoy the pictures of our day!

Thomsons - Fall 2010

This weekend I also put the slower cooker to work and made a pot roast with carrots and potatoes.  It was pretty good...Russell even gave it 5 stars out of 5!! And best of all, it was a Weight Watchers recipe!

Hope your weekend was as fun as ours!!

Admitting Failure is the First Step

Almost five months since my last post on the old blog here equals a major FAIL!! I'm sure my many readers  (my mom and maybe my father-in-law and sister-in-law) have been sitting on the edge of their seats wondering what is going on in our little corner of the world!  Rather than bore with every minute detail, here's a 30-second re-cap:

  • DH passed the SC Bar (YAY!!)
  • WP turned 1, started walking, finally got teeth, moved into a toddler bed and is adding new words and skills every day!!
  • Our house is on the market
  • My dad lost his battle with cancer
  • DH quit his job and found a new one with the potential to move to Charleston!!
  • I quit my job (Hooray!!)
  • My mom took over dad's House of Delegates position to finish out his term
  • DH and I (and WP too) welcomed CE into the world on August 28, 2010
So that's where we are...just trying to adjust to life with two precious ones.  WP has really taken to being a big brother.  At first he ignored her but now he loves to give her kisses in the morning and when he gets home from school (his last day of school is October 29th). He's even trying to say her name which mostly sounds like "Ine."

CE will be two months old in thirteen days...OMG!! She is such a sweet-heart.  She is starting to coo and smile which is beyond adorable.  DH is smitten with his little girl which makes my heart grow more and more each day.

I'm nervous and super excited about the fact that I will have both of my babies home with me full time starting in November.  I know it will be an adjustment period so I'm trying to come up with some fun activities to help keep WP entertained especially while I'm nursing CE.
