So in an effort to properly prepare for the new decade, I thought I would make a list of some highlights from the last ten years. Here goes, in no particular order:
1. Graduated from high school (2000), Graduated from college (2004), graduated from law school (2007) (that's a whole lot of education going on in 10 years).
2. Lived in numerous place (sometimes for a couple of years, sometimes for just a few months) - Alexandria, VA, Salisbury, MD, Sewanee, TN, back to Salisbury, Macon, GA, Edinburgh Scotland, back to Macon, Rome, GA, back to Macon, and finally Atlanta GA.
3. Worked for the MD Senante Minority Leader and a MD Circuit Court Judge (both equally amazing opportunities).
4. Meet, fell in love with and married my amazing husband!! (this is a MAJOR highlight)
5. Bought our first home and then watched the economy damper our excitement...
6. Gave birth to our first child!!! (this is a HUGE highlight)
7. Studied for (way too many hours) the Bar Exam and passed (the passing = highlight, the studying does not).
8. Got sworn in and became an attorney.
9. Watched a lot of football with the hubby (some are probably asking how this can be a highlight, but when you see the joy a Clemson win can bring to DH's face you would understand)
10. Got a puppy (now a 50lb dog, who thinks he is our baby)!
For the people that read this blog (do people actually read this?!?!) what were some of your highlights?

Month 7 in a Nutshell!!
Sorry for the abrupt stop in posting, but we had MAJOR computer problems around the Thomson house. Needless to say, I have learned the value of an external hard drive!! Anyway, in the last month since I posted a lot has happened. First, Will turned 7 months old!!
At seven months, WP has finally learned how to crawl. Although he still uses the army crawl from time to time, he is now a mobile baby up on all fours. He is also starting to pull up on things, although he hasn't fully mastered getting onto his feet. He attempts to do the Itsy-Bitsy Spider, says Dada at anything and everything and today said Mama for the very first time (melted my heart, again)! He's now eating three solid meals a day - his new favorites include Mangos, Apricots, Turkey, Greenbeans, Pear Apple Oatmeal, and Squash. Of course he still loves Sweetpotatoes as well. WP is also becoming better skilled at holding his own bottle and the sippy cup!!
Here are some pictures from WP's 7-month:
It's so hard to believe that 2009 is almost over, but I am definitely ready to welcome 2010. 2009 was full of so much joy for our family but also some very difficult times. We have been so blessed to welcome our precious boy and watch him grow. He will be 8 months old on Friday (January 1, 2010) but it feels like just yesterday that we were on our way to Piedmont Hospital anxiously awaiting WP's arrival. Here's to 2010...may it be full of happiness and joy for our family and friends!!!

What We're Thankful For...
It's that time of year where families and loved ones come together to celebrate all of the blessings of the past year. Personally, I think we should celebrate these blessings all year long and not just once a year...
This past week, DH, WP and I loaded up the Envoy and headed south to Naples, FL for a well deserved vacation. We gathered with my parents (Mom-Mom and Grandpa Page) and my sister for a few days of R&R. For the most part the weather was a perfect 80+ degrees and sunny skies...what more could one ask for in November. During our trip, WP took his first dip in a swimming pool, drank from a sippy cup, saw "snow" (soap bubbles blown out of the street lights in downtown Naples) did a real crawl (not an army crawl) and said something that sounded very close to Dada. Below are some pictures from our trip!!

Finally, a picture of what I am most thankful for today and every day!!!

Dedication Day
How blessed we are!!! Today, we celebrated WP's dedication at Church. Surrounded by our family and friends, we presented our most precious gift to our Lord and re-committed to help nurture and raise WP in a Christ-like manner.

Our Church - Wieuca Road Baptist Church
I was worried that WP would not handle the dedication ceremony well given that the custom in our Church is for our pastor to take the babies and walk them up and down the aisles of the church...thankfully, WP was a perfect angel!!! Here are a few pictures of our handsome boy.
WP is trying to figure out why Mommy has put him in this outfit

Trying to show off his new crawling skills
The next few pictures are from after the ceremony - sorry for the sun interference (yes, we actually had a sunny day in Atlanta!!)

In other news this weekend, WP got the first round of the swine flu shot. That was an experience!!! Our pediatrician's office only had 100 H1N1 shots for babies aged 6 months to 2 years old and they announced that the office would be holding a flu shot clinic this Saturday (11/14) between 1-4 pm. My mom and I arrived at the doctor's office at 11 figuring we would probably need to get in line before 1 to be guaranteed a shot...we were so right.
The first person arrived at 8:00 a.m. and by the time Mom, WP and I left, the line was out the building and winding into the massive parking garage attached next to the doctor's office - there must have been well over 500 people in line (is this a glimpse into our future if government run health care becomes a reality????)
Luckily, WP was patient number 28 and he received his shot. However, that does not guarantee him a second shot (babies under 2 need two shots to make sure the vaccine takes full effect) so we will be waiting in another line later this year.
I wish I had my camera with me yesterday to capture the insanity that accompanied the flu clinic. But just know that it was a madhouse and people were extremely anxious and some were quite obnoxious. But even with all of that, standing in line from 11:00 am until about 1:30 was well worth the wait to ensure that WP got his shot...it really is true parents will do anything for their kids.
Finally, WP received a wonderful gift from his Grandpa Page on Friday night...
