What We're Thankful For...

It's that time of year where families and loved ones come together to celebrate all of the blessings of the past year.  Personally, I think we should celebrate these blessings all year long and not just once a year...

This past week, DH, WP and I loaded up the Envoy and headed south to Naples, FL for a well deserved vacation.  We gathered with my parents (Mom-Mom and Grandpa Page) and my sister for a few days of R&R.  For the most part the weather was a perfect 80+ degrees and sunny skies...what more could one ask for in November.  During our trip, WP took his first dip in a swimming pool, drank from a sippy cup, saw "snow" (soap bubbles blown out of the street lights in downtown Naples) did a real crawl (not an army crawl) and said something that sounded very close to Dada.  Below are some pictures from our trip!!

It was a long 10 hours from Atlanta to Naples
On the way to the pool for the first time!!

Too Cool!!

He actually knew what to do with it!!
Snow in Naples???

WP was not a fan of the "snow"

But we still felt the need to continue taking pictures

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Are we there yet???

WP was absolutely wonderful on the trip even when we were in the car for 10 hours on the way to and from Naples!!! How did we get so blessed?

Finally, a picture of what I am most thankful for today and every day!!!

I love my boys (and Rocko too, even though he had to stay home this time around)

WP's Baby Dedication

Dedication Day

How blessed we are!!! Today, we celebrated WP's dedication at Church.  Surrounded by our family and friends, we presented our most precious gift to our Lord and re-committed to help nurture and raise WP in a Christ-like manner.

Our Church - Wieuca Road Baptist Church

I was worried that WP would not handle the dedication ceremony well given that the custom in our Church is for our pastor to take the babies and walk them up and down the aisles of the church...thankfully, WP was a perfect angel!!!  Here are a few pictures of our handsome boy.

The next few pictures are from after the ceremony - sorry for the sun interference (yes, we actually had a sunny day in Atlanta!!)

Big yawns = end of picture taking

In other news this weekend, WP got the first round of the swine flu shot.  That was an experience!!! Our pediatrician's office only had 100 H1N1 shots for babies aged 6 months to 2 years old and they announced that the office would be holding a flu shot clinic this Saturday (11/14) between 1-4 pm.  My mom and I arrived at the doctor's office at 11 figuring we would probably need to get in line before 1 to be guaranteed a shot...we were so right.

The first person arrived at 8:00 a.m. and by the time Mom, WP and I left, the line was out the building and winding into the massive parking garage attached next to the doctor's office - there must have been well over 500 people in line (is this a glimpse into our future if government run health care becomes a reality????)

Luckily, WP was patient number 28 and he received his shot.  However, that does not guarantee him a second shot (babies under 2 need two shots to make sure the vaccine takes full effect) so we will be waiting in another line later this year.

I wish I had my camera with me yesterday to capture the insanity that accompanied the flu clinic.  But just know that it was a madhouse and people were extremely anxious and some were quite obnoxious.  But even with all of that, standing in line from 11:00 am until about 1:30 was well worth the wait to ensure that WP got his shot...it really is true parents will do anything for their kids.

Finally, WP received a wonderful gift from his Grandpa Page on Friday night...

WP is no longer a stationary baby...Rocko is no longer safe!!  This week, WP has mastered the army crawl as demonstrated by the video and pictures below.

Happy 6 Month Birthday!!!

It is absolutely amazing how quickly the last six months have flown by.  It seems like just yesterday DH and I were headed to the hospital and now we are blessed with the most precious little boy.  WP is into EVERYTHING.  He is trying to crawl, has almost progressed through all of the stage 1 baby foods, thinks Rocko is the funniest thing alive, loves his exersaucer, and babbles non-stop!  At this point, WP has tried and loved rice cereal, sweet potatoes, squash, carrots, applesauce, and pears...WPtolerates sweet peas, but hopefully he will like green beans when we introduce them this week.  Below are WP's six month birthday photos...

WP at 6 months of age - weight 17 lbs, height 27 inches

Wanting to take a nose dive off of the chair...don't worry Daddy was standing right there

Look at those eyes!!

Look at me, I can sit on my own (only for brief moments)

Then I start to fall over

But sometimes I figure out how to catch myself

And one last picture for the night...DH captioned this "Trying to stay regular.."

This is WP's prune face, the result of too many sweet potatoes and rice cereal!!
