WP's First Halloween

It's that time of year when candy, pumpkins, and crazy costumes mark the beginning of the holiday season.  Having a child brings a whole new meaning to all things Halloween.  This year, for WP's first Halloween, DH, WP and I spent the afternoon and night hanging out with my sister and her kids.  Unfortunately, the weather was not the best for trick-or-treating but we did snap a few pictures of WP in his costume.

Such a handsome monkey!!

So happy to have the monkey head off.

My sister's youngest, AW. He's a ninja.
It's so hard to believe that he's going to be six months old tomorrow....

Fall Has Arrived!!!

After the crazy "winter" type weather we had last weekend, it was such a relief to have a nice Atlanta fall day today.  After church, WP, DH and I loaded up into the car and headed out to Uncle Shuck's Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze.  It was a mad house!!!  I think DH and I had more fun looking at the pumpkins then WP did, but that will all change by next year.  There were so many little kids running around and WP was definitely watching them.  You could sense his desire to want to be able to run and play.

Below are a few pictures from our relaxing fall day!!

It's so hard to believe that this is the last week will be 5 months old.  Sunday, November 1, 2009 will be WP's 6 month birthday.  DH and I often remark at how fast this year has gone by.  We have been so blessed by the addition of WP to our family.  He is already becoming his own little person...each new days brings new memories for our family!!

Clemson's Newest Lucky Charm???

What a GREAT weekend!!!

On Friday, DH, WP, Rocko and I made the trip to South Carolina for the weekend. When the Clemson football schedule came out in January, DH and I decided that the October 17th home game versus Wake Forest would be the perfect time to take WP to Clemson for his first game.

For anyone who has been to Clemson during the fall, you know why we decided to wait until the season was half over.  We figured by the middle of October the weather would have cooled down enough to make the day comfortable for WP.  We could not have been more right, Saturday's temperature - a brisk 51 degrees!!!

So we bundled up in as many layers as possible and headed over to Clemson, a.k.a. God's Country.

First stop...our tailgate better known as the Usual Tailgaters.  It's a bunch of DH's fraternity brothers and their significant others and families.  Below is a couple shots of the trailer complete with TVs, Itunes and kegs!!

DH was more than happy to show WP off and Uncle Chris joined in helping teach WP the secrets to tailgating

After we hung out at the tailgate for a little while, we headed over to the stadium to see Daddy Bill (DH's Dad) and Ms Vikki.

WP was really warm, Mommy not so much :(

We could not have asked for a better game...right from the start Clemson dominated and played like they actually knew what they were doing!!! It was so much fun to see Clemson do well - final score 38-3 Clemson!!!

WP was in awe of all the sounds and the orange, he was checking everything and everyone out...including the nachos the boys next to us were eating. He did really well which was nice.  Amazingly, he took two naps once in the stadium and even tolerated Mommy changing his diaper during halftime.  Hopefully, it will be a little warmer when we go back for the Clemson/FSU game November 7!!

In Just Five Months

WP turned 5 months old on October 1, 2009.  It really seems like just yesterday, DH and I were headed to the doctor for our "BIG" ultrasound at 20 weeks and WP looked like this:

And now, WPlooks like this:

At five months, WP can roll over from his tummy to his back and from his back to his tummy.  He is eating rice cereal and applesauce.  We did not plan to start him on baby food (other than the rice cereal) before his six month birthday but due to a very bad sore throat and his refusal to take a bottle this past week, the doctor told us to try applesauce since it is so water laden...WP loves it!!!  So for right now, it's cereal and applesauce and we plan to try some veggies towards the end of the month.

WP is also starting to try and sit up on his own, but his head is so heavy that he can only hold himself up for 30 seconds at best.  He laughs out loud and gets so happy when he sees Rocko, our bulldog.  His little personality is definitely starting to come out.

Below are some of our favorite images of WP over the past five months...he's growing so fast!!!

So that brings us to the present.  It's so hard to believe how much our lives have changed in the last year and a half.  My goal is to post an update every one to two weeks to help keep our families up-to-date on all things "Thomson."
