DH and I got married on June 14, 2008 here...
Then we spent a week relaxing in the sun here...
And then we returned to reality...
In September, I accepted a new job working for a small commercial litigation firm in Buckhead. DH also had recently begun a new job in May so we were both very busy and then we found out...
We were pregnant!!!
DHand I were surprised, but so happy. Like most couples headed towards marriage, we had had the typical family discussion - how many kids, when, names, parental goals, etc. For some, getting pregnant two months after getting married may seem a little quick, but both DH and I were ready and we felt to blessed and humbled to be entrusted with this most precious gift.
So over the next nine months I went from this...
To this...
at 21 weeks pregnant
To this...
at 28 weeks pregnant
To this..
at 33 weeks pregnant
To this...
at 38 weeks, 4 days
Then on May 1, 2009, DH and I welcomed our first child, a little boy - WP. At birth, WP weighed 7 lbs, 6oz and was 20 inches long. He was (and is) the most perfect gift and the most beautiful baby ever!!!
During those nine months, DH and I were very busy preparing WP's nursery and transforming it from this
to this...

and this

We also celebrated a Clemson win over USC...GO TIGERS!!!
We also enjoyed a quiet fall in Atlanta...
And welcomed a new niece...

While most of my pregnancy was "easy" and non-stressful, during the last month, I was diagnosed with pregnancy induced hypertension and placed on partial bed rest. I was permitted to go to work for a few hours in the morning and then I was required to be at home off of my feet the rest of the day. This was not the most enjoyable thing, but all in all, I LOVED BEING PREGNANT!!!
Anyway, after about a month of the partial bed rest, my water broke around 5 pm on Thursday, April 30, 2009 (one week and 2 days before my due date). So DH and I were off to Piedmont Hospital. After 15 hours of labor (13 of those without an epidural) and three pushes, we went from a family of two to a family of three...
And the Thomson Family Adventures had begun...
